Comfort Foundation in the United States financially and emotionally supports Comfort Foundation, Russia as they minister to orphans and underprivileged children in the Vologda Oblast of northern Russia.

By God's grace we are working to create a network of prayer and financial supporters from churches, organizations and individuals in the United States and Europe who will partner with us in long-term ministry enabling us to meet the needs of our Russian staff and the children they serve.

The Comfort Foundation is registered in Russia in the cities of Cherepovets and Vologda. This charitable organization was established to provide material and spiritual support to Russian children in institutions such as orphanages, hospitals and various children's homes. We believe that through a ministry of compassion, our deeds will be a fragrant aroma of Christ to the community.

Comfort Foundation Means...

"When a child grows in a family...there are relatives and friends. But most of the children we work with often don't have mom or dad or other relatives who can teach something good or support them. They don't have a place where they can come and share their problems. I see Comfort Foundation as such a place."

Alla, Comfort Foundation Director, Vologda

"I like the way holidays and birthdays are celebrated at the [Lighthouse] club. Birthdays are not celebrated in my family. My grandmother just gives me some money. But in the club we have big celebrations and get good presents. I can't wait for my birthday!"

Mischa, age 7, Cherepovets / New Corners

"The most important gift is [the children's] attitude towards me. I feel that we are good friends. Children are really glad to see us everywhere we meet, even if it is occasionally in the street. You can read this in their eyes."

Anya Z, Comfort Foundation Staff, Vologda

"Love is love no matter where you are or who you are with, and we got a special dose of it for a week [in Vologda]. The children were sponges and our heart buckets."

Laura (Bing) Brunk, Bonhomme Presbyterian
